The less we forget…

There’s an awful part of Canadian history that has fascinated me for a long time, ever since reading about David Suzuki’s childhood. In 1942, 22,000 Japanese-Canadians were taken from their homes and sent to live in abandoned small towns in the BC mountains until the war was over. The suffering was immense.

I’ve written a story called “Facing Up” which is now up at Triptych Tales. All the facts regarding the setting and living conditions in my goofy little story are true.

Canada has some shameful moments in its past but it is getting better all the time.

Happy Canada Day!
